(670 The Score) Reliver Brandon Workman and the Cubs have agreed on a one-year deal, according to multiple reports Wednesday morning.
The contract is worth $1 million, and Workman could earn an additional $2 million in incentives, as Patrick Mooney of the Athletic first reported.
Workman, 32, had a 5.95 ERA in 21 appearances split between the Red Sox and Phillies in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. That was a stark dip in production after Workman had a terrific 2019 season, when he posted a 1.88 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 73 appearances for Boston. Workman has a career 3.89 ERA across six MLB seasons.
