(670 The Score) Outfielder Adam Engel and the White Sox have agreed to a one-year, $1.375-million deal for 2021, the team announced Wednesday, avoiding arbitration.

Engel, 29, hit .295 with three homers, 12 RBIs and an .811 OPS in 36 games in 2020. Those marked his best batting average and OPS numbers in his four-year MLB career.

Engel has hit .310 against left-handed pitching across the past two seasons. After the White Sox’s signing of lefty-swinging outfielder Adam Eaton, Engels expects to get most of his playing time against lefties, he told 670 The Score earlier in December.
