(AUDACY) The Yankees and White Sox will play in the "Field of Dreams" game in Dyersville, Iowa on Aug. 12. And the day before, some young folks from New York City and Chicago will get to live their dreams on that field too.

MLB announced that a pair of under-14 teams representing NYC and Chicago will play a special exhibition game on Aug. 11 titled “A Dream Fulfilled” at the field in Dyersville. The NYC team will come from the DREAM organization, and the game against a team from Chicago’s White Sox Amateur City Elite program will be televised live on FS1 at 6 p.m. that night.

Both teams will also be present the next day for the actual "Field of Dreams" game, which will be the first MLB game ever played in Iowa.

DREAM, formerly known as Harlem RBI, was founded in 1991 in East Harlem.

“DREAM traces its beginnings back to 1991 when a group of volunteers transformed an abandoned, garbage-strewn lot into two baseball diamonds for the youth in East Harlem, creating the organization's very own ‘Field of Dreams,'" according to the MLB release.

The White Sox created their ACE program in 2007 with a similar idea as Harlem RBI/DREAM.

"Providing high-quality baseball instruction, as well as leadership/mentorship opportunities on and off the field, to young athletes from Chicago’s underserved and inner-city communities," the release said.

The ACE program now boasts 26 MLB draftees, including two first-rounders. Earlier this season, Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Corey Ray became the first ACE alum to reach the big leagues.
