CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- One of the four White Sox fans injured by a hit-and-run driver outside Guaranteed Rate Field on Tuesday shared his bizarre story from his hospital bed.

Charles Janczy of Evanston said it was surreal. He ended up inside the car as the driver sped away.

He couldn't recall everything but said when he was hit, he must have slid up the windshield and then fell upside down into the open sunroof.

“I know that one person asked me a couple times if I was OK, and then I heard some talk between them … about the cops chasing them," Janczy said. "Basically, I was in the car. Once we were on the Dan Ryan, I think it was mostly State Police more or less surrounded the car, and they did some kind of maneuver to basically make the guy crash and stop … I was upside down in the car the entire time."

The car was stopped and the driver was arrested about 10 blocks away.
Janczy has seven cracked ribs, a dislocated thumb, some minor fractures to the spine, but he said he’s feeling OK.

Condelarious Garcia, 20, is due in court Thursday. He was charged with four felony counts of failure to report an injury accident and four felony counts of aggravated reckless driving causing bodily harm, and he was issued misdemeanor citations for driving on a suspended license, failure to reduce speed, operating an uninsured vehicle and expiration of the registration.
