(670 The Score) The White Sox have placed left-hander Dallas Keuchel on the 10-day injured list as he deals with back spasms, they announced Thursday.
The move was retroactive to Monday. In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled right-hander Reynaldo Lopez from its alternate camp in Schaumburg.
Keuchel exited early from his start Sunday, leaving with back stiffness after throwing five scoreless innings. He has been terrific in his first season in Chicago, going 6-2 with a 2.19 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in nine starts. The White Sox had already revealed they would skip Keuchel’s start this weekend. If Keuchel recovers as hoped, he’ll be in line to miss just one start.
Lopez has struggled mightily, going 0-2 with an 8.38 ERA in four starts this season.
