(670 The Score) As the White Sox have surged to a 9.5-game lead in the AL Central and established themselves as a World Series contender, crowds at Guaranteed Rate Field have grown bigger and livelier – especially on the weekends.
The White Sox drew a combined 106,333 fans in a three-game series against the Indians last weekend, an average of 35,444 per game. And their players have noticed, so much so that All-Star shortstop Tim Anderson shared a hilarious comment for how he views a Friday or Saturday night out at his home ballpark.
"On the weekends, it’s the place to go before you go out,” Anderson said of Guaranteed Rate Field, according to Scott Merkin of MLB.com. “We try to make it as a pregame for you. You come to the game, have some drinks, have some fun. We have a DJ up there, playing good music. Use it as a pregame before the night starts."

The White Sox are 38-19 at Guaranteed Rate Field this season, which represents the best home record in the American League. Having gone 35-17 at Oracle Park, the San Francisco Giants are mere percentage points ahead of the White Sox for the best home record in MLB entering action Thursday.
"We are at a point now where we are playing good baseball, winning," Anderson said, according to MLB.com. "We are in first place, and the fans are showing up for us every night."
