(670 The Score) The White Sox on Tuesday unveiled manager Pedro Grifol’s staff for the 2024 season.

Five of the coaches are new to the organization, headlined by new hitting coach Marcus Thames, who served in the same position for the Angels in 2023. Prior to that, Thames was the Marlins’ hitting coach in 2022 and was the Yankees’ hitting coach from 2018-’21.

Other newcomers are assistant pitching coach Matt Wise, first-base/outfield coach Jason Bourgeois, catching coach Drew Butera and major league coach Grady Sizemore.

Returning on the White Sox’s staff for 2024 are bench coach Charlie Montoyo, pitching coach Ethan Katz, assistant hitting coach Mike Tosar and third-base/infield coach Eddie Rodriguez.

Wise was the Angels’ pitching coach for the past three seasons. Prior to that, he was a bullpen coach and minor league pitching coordinator in Los Angeles’ organization.

Bourgeois worked for the Dodgers for the past five seasons, most recently as their outfield and baserunning coordinator.

Like Thames and Wise, Butera worked for the Angels, most recently as their catching coordinator last season and as a bullpen catcher in 2022.

Sizemore is entering his first season on an MLB coaching staff. He previously worked in the player development systems of Arizona and Cleveland.
