(Audacy) MLB commissioner Rob Manfred was feeling the heat from fans and players Tuesday after he announced that the first two series of the regular season would be cancelled as the players and owners failed to agree on a labor deal to end the lockout.

Manfred held a press conference in Florida shortly after spending all day and late into the previous night negotiating as the two sides tried to reach a deal without losing any games.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and as Manfred took the podium to officially announce that the first week of games wouldn't happen, he occasionally flashed a smile and even laughed.

While he wasn't laughing specifically at the prospect of canceling games, his demeanor certainly rubbed many fans and players the wrong way.

One of them was Cubs right-hander Marcus Stroman, who fired off a series of tweets, including one calling for the Manfred's job.

Meanwhile, fans and media also didn't seem to appreciate Manfred's demeanor during the press conference.
