(WEEI/RADIO.COM Sports) A lot of the debate around Buccaneers star Tom Brady has shifted away from whether he's the greatest quarterback or greatest NFL player of all time and toward whether he's the greatest athlete or greatest winner of all time -- in any sport.
BetOnline attempted to gauge who America believes is truly the greatest GOAT by using geotagged Twitter data to determine the top choice in all 50 states, and the results indicate that there's quite the divide. Brady does win more states than anyone else with 20, including five of six states in his old home territory of New England (Connecticut gonna Connecticut), his new home state of Florida and his college state of Michigan.
Bulls legend Michael Jordan and Lakers star LeBron James tied for second and split the NBA vote, with each taking 11 states. Tennis star Serena Williams is the only other athlete to win multiple states, as she grabs four, including Connecticut.
The remaining four were one-off homer quarterback picks, as Joe Montana won California, John Elway took Colorado, Aaron Rodgers got Wisconsin and Peyton Manning carried Indiana.
Baseball, hockey and soccer were completely shut out, as were any athletes who played before 1980. Other notable omissions included Tiger Woods and Olympic stars like Michael Phelps and Simone Biles.
