(AUDACY) It seems only appropriate for the GOAT to present the late Kobe Bryant’s enshrinement into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

The NBA on Thursday released the names of presenters for the 2020 Hall of Fame class's induction ceremony, which was delayed to May 15 of this year due to COVID-19, and Bulls legend Michael Jordan will be the one presenting the late Los Angeles Lakers star.

The decision on who would present Bryant's induction was left to his family, according to TMZ Sports.

Jordan and Bryant had a special friendship and often referred to each other as “little brother” and “big brother.” The two had a mutual respect for each other on the court as Bryant broke into the league while Jordan was on his second dynasty run with the Bulls.

Following Bryant’s death in a helicopter crash in the Los Angeles area in January 2020, Jordan delivered an emotional speech at a memorial for Bryant at the Staples Center. Bryant was voted into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, just months after his sudden death.
