The new display will include 8,600 square feet of 4mm pixel pitch, "making it the largest center-hung screen display with the highest technology of all arenas shared by NBA and NHL teams," United Center officials said.
The scoreboard will include nearly four times more LED screen display than the current display and kinetic movement with six independent panels and a continuous inner ring display, the first of its kind. There will also be immersive audio and production lighting included.
"This new scoreboard allows us the opportunity to take the in-game experience to the next level," said Sergio Lozano, the United Center's senior director of scoreboard operations. "Fans will be blown away by the remarkable scale and unique capabilities leading to a truly captivating in-game experience."
The United Center will also install a new sound system in the arena that will be more balanced and with more powerful audio.
