CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Cam Ward might be the presumptive No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming Draft but the Browns, who pick No. 2 overall, are leaving no stone unturned.

Vice president of football operations and general manager Andrew Berry, head coach Kevin Stefanski and principal and managing partner Jimmy Haslam met with and worked out Ward Wednesday in Miami a league source confirmed to 92.3 The Fan. CanesinSight.com was first to report the private workout.

The Browns also sent members of the personnel department to Columbus for Ohio State’s Pro Day on Wednesday the source said.

The Tennessee Titans own the top pick, and they sent a heavy presence to Miami for Ward’s pro day workout. But on Tuesday ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Titans would be open to a trade “it now would take an even stronger package to acquire the draft’s top selection.”

Cleveland hosted Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders in Berea for top-30 visits earlier this month.

As of now the Browns have just one quarterback on their roster – Kenny Pickett, who was acquired from Philadelphia for Dorian Thompson-Robinson earlier this month.

The available veteran options are shrinking.

Tuesday evening Russell Wilson agreed to sign with the New York Giants.

With Kirk Cousins reportedly holding off on waiving his no trade clause until after the draft in an effort to not repeat what he went through in Atlanta. After signing a big contract, the Falcons drafted Michael Penix a few weeks later. It stands to reason that although Stefanski and the Browns would be a perfect schematic fit, Cousins may not want to deal with another rookie quarterback hovering behind him.

Aaron Rodgers has yet to make a decision after meeting last week with the Steelers.

Joe Flacco, Carson Wentz, Trey Lance, Desmond Ridder and Teddy Bridgewater are among the most recognizable names still available on the open market.

The offseason program for the Browns gets underway on April 21.
