LeSean McCoy has had one of the stranger career arcs that we've ever seen.
A second-round pick out of Pittsburgh in 2009, McCoy is the Philadelphia Eagles all-time leading rusher, having accumulated 6,792 rushing yards in six seasons with the team. But while McCoy is most associated with the Eagles and Buffalo Bills, the two-time All-Pro never won a single playoff game as a member of either team.
McCoy's lack of playoff success changed in 2019 when he joined the Kansas City Chiefs. In his age-31 season, McCoy was part of a Super Bowl-winning team. A year later, he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, earning a second straight ring in a victory over the aforementioned Chiefs. McCoy will likely finish his career as a two-time Super Bowl Champion, one that has a compelling case for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Strangely enough, though, he doesn't have a single touch in the Super Bowl during what's been an impressive run. McCoy was active in this past year's victory over Kansas City, but didn't see the field. The year prior, he wasn't active for gameday when the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. McCoy had 101 regular season carries with the Chiefs, but the further we get removed from the 2019 season, the easier it will be to forgot that the six-time Pro Bowler ever played in Kansas City.
In the meantime, here are five players who are far enough removed from their playing days for you to forget that they had brief stints with the Chiefs:
Warren Moon

A member of both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, Moon is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in the history of professional football. That said, his time in Kansas City wasn't quite as memorable as years with the Edmonton Eskimos or Houston Oilers. Following stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks, Moon signed a multi-year deal to join the Chiefs prior to the 1999 season. In his age-43 and 44 seasons, Moon was largely a backup in Kansas City, completing 16 of 37 passes for a touchdown and an interception.
Nick Novak

Novak is probably most remembered as a member of the San Diego Chargers, and specifically for taking a not-so-subtle bathroom break on the sideline during a game. Before multiple stints with the division-rival Chargers, Novak spent part of the 2008 season with the Chiefs. However, it was a brief stint as Novak was released after converting on just six of his first 10 field goal attempts.
Bobby Engram

Quietly one of the more effective depth receivers of his era, Engram had a career year in 2007, catching 94 passes for 1,147 yards and six touchdowns while playing for the Seattle Seahawks. Strangely enough, Engram was 34 in 2007, and became a free agent following a 2008 campaign that saw him post 489 receiving yards in 13 games. Engram signed with the Chiefs, but caught just five passes for 61 yards in 2009, his final NFL season.
Peyton Hillis

Two years after being the cover athlete on "Madden," Hillis departed Cleveland to sign with Kansas City. While the power back had 1,177 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns during a career year of 2010, he never approached those type of numbers again. The lone bright spot for a 2-14 Chiefs team in 2012 was that Jamaal Charles ran for over 1,500 yards. Hillis, meanwhile, ran for 309 yards, averaging 3.6 yards per carry.
Jason Avant

Avant was a long-time security blanket for the Philadelphia Eagles, the team the drafted him in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Michigan. Following eight seasons with the Eagles, Avant signed a one-year pact with the Carolina Panthers for the 2014 season. He didn't ultimately play out that full deal, as the team released him in mid-November. Avant caught on with the Chiefs, who were now coached by Andy Reid, who had been his coach during his first seven seasons in Philadelphia. Avant finished the 2014 season in Kansas City, before returning for a final NFL campaign in 2015. In 21 games with the Chiefs, Avant caught 28 passes for 271 yards.
