Multiple sources, including ESPN's Jeff Borzello, are reporting that Memphis Grizzlies Assistant Coach Jerry Stackhouse is in negotiations with Vanderbilt University to become Head Men's Basketball Coach. Vandy fired coach Bryce Drew after a rough 9-23 season, finishing last in the SEC.
Listed Jerry Stackhouse as a wild card when the Vanderbilt job opened last month. Didn’t think it would actually happen, but the connections were there. I also think he would make a good hire. Here’s the latest:https://t.co/DG2dOSzkiC

April 2, 2019 Stackhouse is known for his stellar two seasons at North Carolina, including an All-American year in 1995. He went on to play 18 seasons in the NBA before retiring in 2013. He was named D-League (now the G-League) Coach of the Year after leading Raptors 905 to the title. That's where Stackhouse formed a relationship with new Vanderbilt Athletic Director Malcolm Turner, who was president of the G League.
