Exciting news for Memphis sports fans: The Arena League (TAL) officially announced on November 6, 2025, that a new professional arena-football franchise is headed to Memphis.

The team, yet to be named, will play its home games at the Memphis Sports & Events Center beginning in the 2026 season, and will feature a mix of local investment, community involvement, and fan-driven identity (including naming contests). You can submit your name ideas here.

Led by commissioner Tim Brown (Pro Football Hall of Famer), TAL designs a fast-paced, high-energy version of indoor football that aims to bring a new flavor of the sport to cities like Memphis.

For Memphis, this marks the return of indoor/arena football after past iterations such as the Memphis Xplorers and the Memphis Pharaohs.

With this announcement, the stage is now set: season tickets will soon be on sale, community partners will be enlisted, and the “Memphis team” will take shape.
