A big topic of conversation in the last week among Eagles fans was why in the world ESPN's Football Power Index gave the Cowboys a 29.3-percent chance to win the Super Bowl vs. a 13.3-percent chance for the Eagles.
Well, surely after the Eagles destroyed the Giants 48-22 on the road and Dallas eked out a four-point home win over the lowly Texans, their respective Super Bowl chances would flip, right?
Nope.
ESPN's FPI still gives the Cowboys the NFL's highest percent chance to win the Super Bowl at 22.5, tied with the Chiefs, while the Eagles are third at 21.3-percent.
In contrast, FiveThirtyEight.com gives the Eagles a 24-percent chance to win the Super Bowl, while Buffalo is the second highest at 19-percent and Dallas is fourth at 15-percent.
Obviously, the huge game in Dallas between the two teams on Christmas Eve will go a long way in determining the Super Bowl chances for both teams.
