Brian Schottenheimer on Dak Prescott: 'He's going to lead us to championships'

One of Brian Schottenheimer's biggest proponents to be the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys was at The Star in Frisco on Monday to take in the coach's introductory press conference.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott sat amongst the horde of media members and watched as they peppered Schottenheimer, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones and EVP Stephen Jones about how they can get this franchise known as America's Team to a conference championship for the first time since 1996.

At one point during the press conference, Schottenheimer was asked what his vision is for the team's $60 million/per year quarterback.

“My vision for him is he's one of the best," Schottenheimer said. "And through the coaching that he's going to get, through the hours and hours of time that he and I will spend together, he’s going to play elite-level football. And he’s going to lead us to championships."

Schottenheimer says that he's so optimistic about Prescott leading the organization to the promised land because of the work he puts in behind the scenes to improve.

"We got the right guy. And working closely with him and these other players, we're going to win. And we're going to win a championship. Otherwise, why are we doing it?"

Jerry Jones revealed Monday that Schottenheimer will call the offensive plays.
