The Memphis Grizzlies couldn't have scripted a much better start to the 2026 NBA Summer League.

Memphis rolled past the Oklahoma City Thunder 111-74 on Independence Day in Salt Lake City, showcasing its depth, defensive intensity and an exciting mix of young talent. The Grizzlies placed seven players in double figures and never allowed Oklahoma City to establish any offensive rhythm, building a 66-44 halftime lead before stretching the margin to as many as 41 points in the second half.

Veteran forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper led the balanced attack with 17 points, while No. 3 overall pick Cameron Boozer made an impressive professional debut with 15 points, four rebounds and four assists. Taylor Hendricks also scored 15 points, and Jahmai Mashack continued his strong development with 12 points, four assists and a pair of blocks. Cedric Coward, Javon Small and Carson Cooper each added 11 points in Memphis' complete team effort.

The Grizzlies' defensive pressure forced 19 turnovers and fueled easy transition opportunities throughout the afternoon. While Summer League results should always be viewed with perspective, Memphis displayed the unselfish ball movement, defensive activity and roster depth that the organization hoped to see.

It's only one game, but the Grizzlies made a statement to open Summer League and provided fans with plenty of reasons to be excited about the franchise's young core heading into the rest of the week.

Monday night (7/6) is Game 2 of the Memphis Grizzlies Summer League at 8:00 p.m. ESPN.
