The Memphis Grizzlies clearly have a strategy to make Saturday night's Marc Gasol jersey retirement a spectacle on-and-off the court. Memphis, resting their most significant players in anticipation for Saturday night's action, used a rotation of newly acquired bench assets and 2-way players to blast the Detroit Pistons Friday night at FedExForum. Final: Grizzlies 108 Pistons 90

Just how limited were the Grizzlies? Trey Jemison and Maozinha Pereira led all Grizzlies scorers with 17 points a piece. And yet Memphis beat a Detroit Pistons team favored by oddsmakers (-1.5) heading into the game.

Scotty Pippen Sr. was in the building to see his son Scotty Pippen Jr. score 16. GG Jackson and Lamar Stevens chipped in 15 solid points each.

Detroit's two bright spots were 31 points from Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren's double-double 17 point/10 rebound night.
