Ja & Jaren drop road test vs Cavs 129 to 123

Full Grizzlies Coverage Monday on 92.9 FM ESPN/Grizzlies host the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday at FedExForum

Sunday (2/23) the Memphis Grizzlies fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-123 in a hard-fought battle at Rocket Arena. Donovan Mitchell led the Cavs with 33 points, while Evan Mobley added 25 points and 13 rebounds, and Ty Jerome chipped in 26 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter on 92.9 FM ESPN.

Cleveland’s dominance on the boards was evident, outrebounding Memphis 57-37, despite the Grizzlies being one of the league’s tallest teams. For Memphis, Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 22 points, and Ja Morant contributed 21 points and 10 assists, but their late rally fell short. Jackson’s three-point play brought the Grizzlies within 124-121 with 42 seconds left, but missed free throws sealed their fate.

The loss dropped Memphis to 37-20, while Cleveland extended their winning streak to seven, improving to 47-10 and solidifying their spot atop the Eastern Conference.
