The Memphis Grizzlies dropped their fourth straight game Monday night, falling 126–115 to the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center. Brooklyn shot a scorching 55.3 percent from the field and 51.5 percent from three-point range, using a balanced offensive attack to pull away late. Day’Ron Sharpe led the Nets with 19 points, while Ochai Agbaji added 18 and rookie Nolan Traoré scored 17. Jason Smith & John Martin discussed it on 92.9 FM ESPN's J&J Show on Tuesday (3/10) AUDIO:
Memphis battled despite a short-handed roster. Rayan Rupert paced the Grizzlies with a career-high 20 points, while Javon Small contributed 19, GG Jackson added 18, and Jaylen Wells finished with 17. However, turnovers proved costly. Memphis committed 15 turnovers that turned into 27 Brooklyn points, helping the Nets erase an early deficit and take control in the fourth quarter.
The loss dropped Memphis to 23–40 on the season, and the Grizzlies now head into the second night of a back-to-back.
Tonight, Memphis travels to Philadelphia to face the 76ers at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Philadelphia enters the matchup 34–30 and eighth in the Eastern Conference, while the Grizzlies sit 11th in the West and are looking to snap their four-game skid.
Both teams are dealing with injuries. The Sixers are without Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George, while Memphis is also missing several key contributors including Ja Morant and Zach Edey.
Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. (CST/Memphis time), as two short-handed teams try to get back in the win column. Pregame at 5:30 p.m. on 92.9 FM ESPN after the Gabe Kuhn Show.
