Atlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson once again bailed the Braves out with not only his bat but with some Gold Glove caliber plays in the field, including in the ninth inning Monday night as the Braves won their first road game of the season.

Carl Dukes said Dansby is playing at a high level in all aspects of the game.

“I’ve been really impressed with how he’s handled himself at the plate, but I’ve been more impressed with his defense,” Dukes said. “Those plays, like the one he made in the ninth inning last night, those energize the team, those are gold glove plays, and those are championship caliber plays.”

Mike Bell talked about hot of a start Swanson is off to.

“He’s off to a red-hot start,” Bell said. “You have to go back to the Milwaukee days to find a Braves shortstop with as many home runs this early in the season. If he is going to be getting on like this, maybe they move him to the leadoff spot.”
