Darren Eales joined Dukes & Bell and talked about the team’s loss on Friday, Ezequiel Barco and the lack of goals scored this season by the team.
Eales talked about Barco’s play in the under-21 World Cup.
“It’s brilliant, it was a brilliant penalty he took,” Eales said. “He played really well today. He’s the man for them. It’s a real honor for him to play for Argentina, good luck to him, but just come back safe. It’s exactly what we were looking for when we signed him.”
When asked about the lack of goals the team has scored this year worries him...
“It does a little bit,” Eales said. “Obviously we want to be scoring more goals, it would be one thing if we weren’t creating chances, we’re not putting the chances away like we did last year. Josef’s the first to admit that he’s had some one-on-one's where he hasn’t been as clinical as he was last year. Hopefully tomorrow will be that game where we get the win and score lots of goals.”
