Atlanta United Color Analyst Jason Longshore joined Jon Chuckery and Randy McMichael to recap the 5 Stripes win over Herediano and preview upcoming games verse D.C. United and F.C. Monterrey.

Longshore on managing minutes with so many games coming up, “It’s interesting because you’re looking at a trip to D.C. then to Monterrey then back home for Cincinnati and another game with Monterrey. I do believe CONCACAF is the priority. The opportunity to win CONCACAF outweighs the first few regular season games on the MLS schedule. What happened to Toronto last season isn’t the same. They had every center back on their roster injured at the same time which is an anomaly.”

Longshore on Thursday night’s win over Herediano, “This team is going to create a lot of opportunities. The game against Herediano is what you are looking for and the strategy they (Herediano) had coming into Thursday wasn’t a good one. Monterrey is in their 9th week in the season in Mexico and they haven’t lost in 2019 so they are going to be tough to beat.”

Longshore when asked about Brek Shea, “People have looked at him in the wrong way. He has played for bad teams the last four years. You have to go to the right club and the right situation. Brek Shea went to Stoke City early in his career and wasted a few years there. This is the best team he (Brek Shea) has ever played for.”

Longshore on Barco’s performance on Thursday, “He played simpler and was more aggressive. Everyone involved connected more passes. With the team they have now and Miguel Almiron no longer on the roster it is important to connect more passes.”

Longshore on the match verse D.C. United tomorrow, “You have to go in very open minded because I think you will see a very different lineup. I believe Andrew Carleton will see a lot of minutes.”
