Sports Illustrated Senior NBA writer Chris Mannix joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the passing of former NBA superstar Kobe Bryant.

Mannix talked about Kobe’s dedication to winning when he was a playing in the NBA.

“He was as singly focused player as I’ve covered.” Mannix said “Even the great players in this league, not all of them, but a great many of them doing see winning as the end all, be all. They want to win badly, it’s not the same way as Kobe, the two guys that had it the most were Kobe and Kevin Garnett. They both were kinda carved from that same wood, you look at them with great respect and reverie with how they approached the game, so many young players took their cue from Kobe."

Chris told the guys that Kobe was a role model for most players who are now in the league.

"He really was the role model for I would say every player in the 21st century, the point where you went from Jordan straight to Kobe." Mannix said "I’m sure there’s a generation of players maybe some in the league already that will look at Lebron down the line but Kobe was that guy and you yesterday with all those testimonials coming in, he really impacted people in a powerful way.”
