When the Falcons parted ways with Devonta Freeman a spot on the depth chart opened up. While it seemed that the team would use a draft pick to fill that role, which changed when the Rams announced they were releasing former UGA RB Todd Gurley.
While Gurley had monster seasons in 2017 and 2018, leading the NFL in Rushing Touchdowns both years and taking home the 2017 Offensive Player of the Year Award, but his 2019 season was a far cry from that output and he rushed for a career low 857 yards.
If Gurley can be had for a relatively risk-free price the team should consider him.
