The Atlanta Falcons resume Organized Team Activities this afternoon at Flowery Branch. Julio Jones, Grady Jarrett, Deion Jones and Vic Beasley were noticeable absences from the first installment of OTAs last week.
But the name most fans have been frustrated with not appearing with the team is Beasley. But why?
"Vic can play, let's not get it twisted," Randy McMichael of the Midday Show said. "But Vic plays a position where you need production to be successful in this league. They don't get the production from him given what he was drafted as the 8th overall pick."
"Now, if he was a 4th rounder or something, people probably wouldn't care."

— Atlanta Falcons (@AtlantaFalcons) May 25, 2019Since his 15 1/2 sack season back in 2016, Beasley's production has fallen. Since 1982, there have been 77 players produce as many sacks as Beasley did three years ago. Only three of those guys failed to have another double-digit sack season.
Coach Dan Quinn, who is taking over the defensive coordinator duties, said he was going to take a hands-on approach with Beasley this season.
"Making that decision to extend that 5th-year option meant that you couldn't give that money to another guy who might play that same position, you might go out and spend money on, so it's kind of hamstringed (the Falcons)," Andy Bunker said. "Those are the numbers and the reasons why people are mad at Vic Beasley."
