Another Atlanta Braves pitcher left a spring game early with an injury on Friday.
The most recent injury exit came from A.J. Minter, who The Athletic's Jeff Schultz says has left shoulder tightness.
Uh oh. Trainer coming out to check on A.J. Minter after one batter. Braves already down Gausman, Foltynewicz, Gohara and Soroka in camp, now the relief corps might be hit
— Kyle Glaser (@KyleAGlaser) March 1, 2019With the Philadelphia Phillies getting outfielder Bryce Harper on Thursday and the Braves pitching staff with numerous pitchers leaving games or scratched from starts due to injuries, is it time for the team to go out and get a frontline starter or some help in the bullpen?
Carl Dukes talked about the Braves lack of moves during the offseason.
“The problem with the way the offseason played out there was no set market,” said Dukes. “With that said, the Braves didn’t really do anything. They didn’t strengthen their starting rotation and they didn’t strengthen their bullpen.”
Mike Bell said that he doesn’t need the team to go crazy with spending, he just wants the team to invest in itself like division rival Philadelphia.
“I don’t try to make light of them having a budget, but they have money coming in and can they reinvest it with these guys being injured,” said Bell. “That’s all I want, now that we have to face Bryce Harper for over a decade. We need some proven arms.”
