On Thursday Atlanta Braves reporter, Joe Patrick, joined the Midday Show with Andy and Randy to discuss the Braves who currently find themselves on a three-game winning streak.

During his time on the show, Andy Bunker asked about young standout pitcher, Spencer Strider, and how the Braves should be using him to get the best value from him.

Patrick believes the Braves are currently getting the best value from Strider with his limited usage. He did state, "I would love to see him pitching as a starter." However, the Braves have to be cautious with his pitch count as not to over use their young arm, similar to what they did with Ian Anderson.

On the season Spencer Strider has appeared in 11 games, 24 innings, and recorded 37 strikeouts in that time. Joe Patrick pointed out that Strider's ability to be so effective in short spurts in the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings spares the rest of the bullpen for an entire game.

Pitching in high leverage moments had bode well for the young star. Will the Braves make a move this season to expand his role? Only time will tell.
