The Atlanta Braves' first week in North Port, Florida did not get off to the best start after the team announced pitcher, Spencer Schwellenbach, would be placed on the 60-day injured list for bone spurs in his right elbow, requiring arthroscopic procedure with no timeline set for his return.

On Friday, Braves President, Baseball Operations and General Manager, Alex Anthopoulos spoke to members of the media and addressed whether the club is considering signing a free agent in the wake of Schwellenbach’s injury, to which he explained ultimately the club is financially able to do so, however feels confident where they are with remaining starters.

“It sounds like, ‘yeah, I was thinking about it.
We maybe threw it around,’” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Duke’s said on Friday as he and Mark Zinno shared thoughts on Anthopoulos’ answer to signing a pitcher. “It just sounds like he’s not going to do,” Dukes added.
