In the midst of getting their season on track by sweeping a doubleheader from the Nationals on Wednesday, the Braves delivered an unfortunate update on injured ace Mike Soroka.
While there were some early hopes that Mike Soroka could return by the end of the month, that timeline will have to be pushed back as he halts his rehab from an achilles injury to now rest his shoulder.
Injury Expert Will Carroll, who is also an Assistant Baseball Coach for the University of Indianapolis, details Mike Soroka's shoulder setback and why it's concerning because it could be related to the injury that ended his season last year.
"You have to think there’s some connection, maybe his mechanics are a little bit off, but I’m not terribly concerned by this. He hasn’t had a normal time through spring training," explains Carroll. "What we want to see is how quickly does he gets back to throwing, how quickly does he get back on a normal schedule, and how much does that throw off the rest of his rehab. Your body makes unconscious adjustments to things, you don’t think about it, your body just does it sometimes."
