Atlanta Braves starting pitching has been red hot in spring training down in Florida.

Charlie Morton made his spring debut over the weekend. It was his first appearance on the mound since suffering a broken leg in Game 1 of the World Series. Morton struck out five and walked one in 4 2/3 innings of work.


Veteran ace of the staff Max Fried pitched three hitless, scoreless innings in his first appearance of spring training and Ian Anderson allowed only two hits, walking one and striking out four on Friday.

92.9 The Game reporter Joe Patrick joined the Midday Show on Monday to discuss who he believes the front runner to start Opening Day will be.

"I think a lot of this comes down to the manager deciding who should have the prestige of the moment and all that, especially when you have two really top choices like you have in Charlie Morton and Max Fried," Patrick told Andy and Randy.

"Honestly, it doesn't really matter all that much. I mean, this is more something for fans to kind of have conversations about...I think it comes down to who Brian Snitker thinks he's most comfortable with and I think regardless...there's not really a bad choice here."
