Could Falcons have fewer wins than in '21 but still be a better team?

There is quite a wide range of expectations for the Atlanta Falcons this season, with some expecting only two or three wins in Arthur Smith's second season. Others wonder if they could grab seven or eight victories and play meaningful games into December.

Morning Show host John Fricke isn't overly concerned with the wins and losses because he feels the team is still better in 2022 than they were in 2021.

A recent article from Bill Barnwell of ESPN explained, using mathematical reasoning, that the Falcons could see a significant dropoff this season.

Among other statistics he provided, Barnwell noticed that the Falcons -146 point differential had never been seen in a seven-win season, and their record in one-possession games will likely revert back to a more average number.

"Do you think this team as constructed is better or worse than the team last year," questions John Fricke. "Because I think this is a better team even without Matt Ryan. Not talking about wins and losses, they could have less wins but be a better team."

The Falcons may not only be better, but possess a little more swagger, too.

"This team feels like it's working a lot harder," said Hugh Douglas. [It] feels like it has more of an attitude as opposed to last year. But is it a better team? As a fan, nobody is going to see it that way."
