Falcons Head Coach Arthur Smith stopped by the show on Wednesday for his weekly visit following a big win over Tampa Bay on Sunday. The team is looking to keep momentum going as they climbed into first place in the NFC South and moved above .500 at 4-3. A critical match in Tennessee awaits and the Titans are reportedly counting on two QBs in Malik Willis and Will Levis to take the place of the injured veteran Ryan Tannehill.
Coach Smith acknowledged the offense has left points on the board in recent weeks but fully believes the team has much more to show on the field in red zone situations. Desmond Ridder’s ability to hold onto the football and make sure the snaps are exchanged correctly will go a long way to the team going from scoring in the teens and twenties to a number similar to the best offensive units in the NFL.
The Falcons should take advantage of this matchup with the rest of the NFC South facing more difficult opponents. Tampa heads to Buffalo to take on the Bills and the floundering Saints head to Indianapolis to take on a Colts team that put up 38 points last weekend vs a vaunted Browns defense.
