No one really knows what will happen to Calvin Ridley a year from now. With Ridley being suspended for a year for gambling, the Atlanta Falcons now have to figure out who will be catching passes from Matt Ryan in 2022.
Right now, Terry Fontenot and Arthur Smith know that $11.1 million is off the books this year. And from a salary cap standpoint, Christmas came early. With some extra change in their pocket, there has to be a player the Falcons have their eye on that could benefit from it.
Tori McElhaney, of AtlantaFalcons.com, joined The Jon Chuckery Show to talk about said player. “It changes things for Cordarrelle Patterson,” McElhaney said.
The drama-filled offseason for the Falcons may have a silver lining. With Ridley on the shelf, and off the books, they might be able to re-sign their most valuable player on offense.
