The Georgia Bulldogs sent another three players into the first round of the NFL Draft last night as Mykel Williams was selected by the 49ers at 11th overall, Jalon Walker was picked by the Falcons at 15, and finally Malaki Starks landed with the Baltimore Ravens at pick #27. Newest Atlanta Falcons LB Jalon Walker wasn't surprised to see another year with multiple Dawgs in the first round, stating that playing in Athens for Kirby Smart is a large reason why he was taken there as well.
"You got to work hard. Being at Georgia, you have to work hard. If you want to come to the University of Georgia, you choose hard and once you do it, you're going to be successful," says former UGA and now Falcons LB Jalon Walker. "You see the program and the history they have with draft picks and players in general."
Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have placed SIXTEEN (16) players into the first round just since 2020, and it's a massive recruiting tool for Coach Smart, especially when studs like Jalon Walker credit Georgia as having such a big impact on his path to the NFL.
