What is Falcons' master plan to get back to the top

Nick Kayal gives what he thinks should be the Falcons "Master Plan" to get back to the top of the NFL.

In the second hour of the Nick Kayal show Nick spoke with former NFL executive Andrew Brandt about all the changes Arthur Blank and the Atlanta Falcons are going through. In the next segment this got Nick talking about his master plan for the Atlanta Falcons, and what they should do to rebuild and get themselves back to the top of the NFL. The master plan had three main steps. One, hire Louis Riddick as the new general manager, former NFL executive and current analyst on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Two, hire Eric Bieniemy, current offensive coordinator for the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs, as the head coach, and three draft Justin Fields in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Let’s start with step one. Nick wants Louis Riddick as the next general manager of the Atlanta Falcons because “Louis Riddick understands player/personnel, and finding talent.” Nick then alludes to Louis Riddick’s background in the NFL when he was a part of the Philadelphia Eagles player personnel team, and how he was a part of drafting Fletcher Cox, Lane Johnson, Zach Ertz, and a handful of guys who won a super bowl about six years later. Louis Riddick’s expertise in player/personnel and finding talent is why he should be the next general manager of the Atlanta Falcons.

Step two, hire Eric Bieniemy as the head coach. Nick believes, as most Falcons fans do, that Eric Bieniemy should be the next head football coach of the Atlanta Falcons because one “he is a guy that’s adored around the league by players and respected.” Nick also finishes his thought by saying this is a guy who should probably already be a head coach but was passed over and that “won’t happen again.”

Finally, step three draft Justin Fields the phenomenal quarterback from Ohio State University, and obviously former Georgia Bulldog quarterback. Nick says this team is “already on their way” to step number three with their current 0-5 record. Nick also says they don’t need to screw up step three by winning too many games this season because it would be “counter productive.” Nick continues by ensuring Falcons fans that if the Falcons get at least the third overall draft pick they can get Justin Fields, which will result in what Nick says will be “An injection of energy this franchise hasn’t seen since Julio Jones was drafted nine years ago, or since Michael Vick was under center 15 years ago.” Nick finishes his thought by saying Justin Fields would be an “instantaneous rockstar in Atlanta.”

That’s Nick Kayal’s plan, and it’s one that a lot of Falcons have and will vouch for. However, the success and execution of this plans depends a lot on Arthur Blank and the remaining Falcons season. Will Arthur Blank hire Louis Riddick and/or Eric Bieniemy, and will the Falcons end the season with a top three draft pick, and if so will you be happy with the master plan?
