Falcons should trade down if not looking for QB

Atlanta Falcons
Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Falcons have some big decisions to make when it comes to the direction they are headed in. Falcons’ general manager, Terry Fontenot has some experience in dealing with big quarterback contracts coming from New Orleans. This quarterback class has a lot of talent and Fontenot would be silly if he didn't consider taking a quarterback with the number four overall pick.

Robert Mays, of The Athletic, joined the Jon Chuckery show to talk about what the Falcons should do with their top 5 pick. "If it's not a quarterback, I think you trade down 100 times out of a 100," Mays said.

There is a big possibility that a couple of quarterbacks could go before the Falcons pick so they may be able to take advantage of a quarterback needy team looking to trade up. With the tight budget they are working with, that could be a dream come true for Fontenot.

One thing that we have always learned when it comes to the NFL Draft, it is always good to have options. Let's just hope the Falcons find a way to take advantage.
