Not counting last night’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Jacksonville Jaguars the Falcons are currently seventh in total offense, sixth in rush offense, 12th in pass offense, and 26th in scoring offense.
Now, last night’s game between the Chiefs and Jaguars may’ve changed those numbers slightly, but even if they did the Falcons’ total offense, rush offense, and pass offense all being ranked in the top half of the NFL while their scoring offense being towards the bottom of the NFL ranks shows they’ve been moving the ball well, but just aren’t scoring as much as they should be.
Earlier today The Morning Shift was talking about things the Falcons and Offensive Coordinator Zac Robinson could do to improve not only Atlanta’s scoring offense but their offense overall.
“I just want to see more fake handoffs, more guessing on the part of the defenses we are playing against, and them having a little bit of confusion instead of just zoning in on exactly where the ball is going on any given play.” Mike Johnson said
Zac Robinson adding wrinkles to and building upon plays that have been successful for the Falcons’ offense will help keep defenses honest, and not just allow them to identify a play that they’ve seen on film and get an upperhand on trying to stop it, and hopefully those wrinkles will be seen Monday night when the Falcons take on a pretty good Bills defense.
