2021 NFL Draft: 4 potential trade partners for the Falcons pick at No. 4

Why the Falcons should absolutely trade out of 4th pick in NFL Draft

Pro Football Focus draft analyst Austin Gayle joined Dukes & Bell Wednesday and talked about whether the Falcons have a trade partner if they decided to trade out of the fourth spot?

Gayle told the guys who might be willing to talk with the Falcons about the fourth pick.

“The number one team on my list is Carolina, Gayle said. "Carolina has been actively trying to upgrade over Teddy Bridgewater all offseason. ... I do think the Carolina Panthers are going to be the first to call to go up to No. 4. After that Denver wants to upgrade over Drew Lock. San Francisco wants an upgrade over Jimmy G. And then I think New England would be that fourth team that wants to come up and go trade for a quarterback.”

Gayle added that the Falcons are in a prime position to move back after Matt Ryan restructured his contract.

“No one is talking about the fact that Matt Ryan restructured his contract so much that the Falcons are pot-committed to Matt Ryan for the next two years. To take a quarterback at 4 and lose the value they would have in a rookie quarterback on a rookie contract for two years, I think the Atlanta Falcons would be smart to trade down. It’s a prime trade-down spot because if they don’t the Cincinnati Bengals will because the Cincinnati Bengals obviously aren’t taking a quarterback.”
