Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins finally got his money. He signed a five-year deal worth $125 million. All Collins has to do now is live up to that contract.
The one thing that wasn't heard about was Collins receiving a qualifying offer from another team. Kurt Helin, of NBC Sports, joined The Jon Chuckery Show to explain why the market was so quiet for John Collins.
"There's just no way anybody was going to jump in with a serious offer," Helin said.
The Atlanta Hawks had a specific number in mind that they wanted to pay Collins. Also, general manager Travis Schlenk had a pretty good idea of what the market would be for Collins as well.
