Why you shouldn't be so quick to write off the Hawks

There have been reports and rumors that multiple trades and deals have fallen through for the Hawks. NBA free agency has been one for the books thus far and there is still room for plenty of more acquisitions and trades to be made. The Hawks have cleared cap space by trading John Collins to the Jazz, and recently they have acquired veteran Patty Mills. However, there is still a big move to be made. The general consensus with Hawks fans seems to be that this is the team as currently constructed, to be the team to start the next season.

John Fricke stated on the weekend show, “I want Hawks fans to be careful, and I know it’s starting to happen a little bit, of pointing fingers and saying you’re not doing anything because we don’t know. That would be an egg on the face moment if all of a sudden they make a major move.” There is no deadline, therefore a trade can still be made for the Atlanta Hawks. Who they are looking to acquire and who they are willing to part ways with seems to be the real question.

The east has already been a race to the top, but as each day goes by the rankings fluctuate. Damian Lillard could be moving to the Eastern Conference, James Harden may be heading out west, and other teams are looking to make roster moves as well. So although plenty of moves have been made, breaking trade news could still happen any day of NBA free agency.
