New York Jets tight end CJ Uzomah apparently has quite the respect for his new quarterback, Zach Wilson.

The 29-year-old arrived to his first Jets training camp on Tuesday sporting a white T-shirt with a fake Time Magazine cover that displayed a picture of his quarterback as Time’s Person of the Year.

Of course, the reason Uzomah — who signed with the Jets after spending his first seven seasons in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals — was wearing this shirt was pretty clear and it has nothing to do with Wilson’s ability on the field, but rather off of it.

The Jets quarterback gained internet fame this summer after a rumor circulated about the 23-year-old engaging in an intimate relationship with his mother’s friend.

The rumor was spread by Wilson’s ex-girlfriend, who was trying to put the quarterback on blast after she received criticism for dating Wilson’s best friend and former BYU roommate.

Instead, the internet fell in love with Wilson and now his teammates are enjoying the off-field legend the No. 2 overall pick in last year’s draft has carved for himself.

Wilson has only addressed the rumor in subtle fashion, asking if anything happened over the weekend while he had no service, so it has yet to be confirmed if it is true.

It probably does not matter one way or the other, especially if it puts him in good graces with his teammates without even throwing a pass.

Now it is time to see if Wilson “has that dawg in him” on the field as he enters his second season in the NFL.
