The 2023 Georgia Bulldogs are preseason favorites looking to win their third championship in a row. But they aren't without some roster questions, and one of those biggest questions, the backfield, took a huge hit on Wednesday when Kirby Smart announced that running back Branson Robinson was injured in practice Tuesday and will miss the entire 2023 season.
Robinson had three touchdowns in 2022, including two against TCU in the national championship game, and was expected to be among the teams' bigger contributors in the running game in 2023.
With Robinson out, the Bulldogs will have to rely on a pair of seniors (Kendall Milton and Daijun Edwards) and a pair of freshman (Andrew Paul and Roderick Robinson) to produce out of the backfield.
The uncertainty now in the backfield is just another reason that the team could be putting more of the offense into the hands of newly-minted QB1 Carson Beck.
