Nick Saban is no stranger to the headlines, and as we approach the start of the College Football season, it would seem ordinary for him to draw press, but this week he's garnering attention for another reason, the purchase of a $17.5 Million beachfront home in Florida that many are labeling as a retirement property.
While the timeline for Nick Saban to step away from the game is still unknown, Andy and Randy feel like the guy to replace Saban in Tuscaloosa is a pretty familiar face for Dawg fans.
"What would you want for the pathway? Alma Mater? Maybe coached under Saban? Maybe coached under Kirby? There's a guy who meets those categories," says Andy Bunker. "He will have experience as a National Champion, all the defensive players in the NFL, everybody raves about him, that's how it goes."
Glenn Schumann, who attended Alabama, and began his coaching career under Nick Saban with the Crimson Tide, has been a staff member for Kirby Smart with the Georgia Bulldogs since 2019, and is expected to be one of the hottest names in the next coaching cycle.
If Schumann is patient, because for all we know Saban could stick around for another 5+ years, he may end up as Alabama's top choice when Saban is ready to step away.
