College Football analyst Danny Kanell joined Dukes & Bell to help the guys preview the National Championship game on Monday night and talked about what he thinks of the matchup. Kanell talked about why it’s not about Stetson Bennett’s performance but the defense’s performance on Monday night.
Kanell talked about why Stetson Bennett has proven he is good enough to win a National Title.
“I was really happy for him in the Orange Bowl, cause I’ve been a quarterback who’s been crushed and criticized and it’s hard to be a quarterback, more than ever in today’s college football,” Kanell said. “If he didn’t silence his critics, some of them were Georgia fans, saying we need JT Daniels off the bench, we need JT Daniels off the bench. I think he’s proven time and time again he’s got what it takes to win a National Championship, you can win with him.”

Kanell told the guys defense is what lost the SEC Championship game for UGA.
“To me the SEC Championship was all about the defense and that is what the National Championship is going to be all about. Can their defense shut down Bryce Young? And if they can’t, that to me is the biggest failure, it won’t matter what Stetson Bennett does, it’s about the defense, which is what this team’s identity is, great defense.”
