Texas, Oklahoma not joining SEC until 2025 is good news for Georgia

Over the weekend it was revealed that it was unlikely that Texas and Oklahoma would be able to exit the Big 12 until the 2025 season, which was a delay from the planned departure of 2024.

DawgNation's Mike Griffith detailed how the delay of the Sooners and Longhorns works in the Bulldogs' favor.

"It makes it easier for Georgia to win another championship," declares Griffith. "Once you add Oklahoma and Texas in the SEC you go to a nine-game conference schedule and going to a nine-game conference schedule makes things more difficult."

The reported cause of the exit being pushed back a season is an issue between the Big 12's TV partners (ESPN and FOX) and a new agreement with the conference that was required when the two teams left for the SEC.
