The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are having one of their best seasons in recent years under Brent Key, currently sitting at 8-1 on the season and currently ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll, previously ranked No. 8, and No. 17 in the first College Football Playoff rankings.
And despite being handed their first loss this past Saturday at the hands of N.C. State, the Yellow Jackets success has led to speculations of Key possibly being sought after to fill some of the recent head coaching vacancies in college football.
On Thursday, issued a statement in which he essentially declared his commitment to remain at Georgia Tech, having no desire to leave the program. "Slice me open and see what colors I bleed," Key wrote, which 92-9 The Game's Carl Dukes shared his thoughts on why he believes Key's declarative statement backs him into a corner in which he now makes it challenging to leave Tech.
"When you do this, you better not leave," Dukes said as he explained why he believes Key is "telling everybody, no matter what or what's on the table potentially for you money wise, you're here," with the message in his statement.
