The Georgia Tech Basketball team has advanced to the ACC Conference Tournament Championship Game after the Virginia Cavaliers were forced to cancel the semifinal matchup due to a COVID-related issue.
Georgia Tech, who squeaked by Miami on Thursday afternoon, is already a lock to get into the NCAA Tournament, but could greatly improve their seed if they go on to win the ACC Tournament.
Virginia came into the ACC Tournament as the #1 seed, so it could be viewed as a lucky break for the Yellow Jackets, but it ultimately could count against them in terms of seeding for the NCAA Tournament since they don't have the opportunity to beat a nationally ranked UVA side.
Georgia Tech will await the winner of Friday's game between FSU and UNC.
