If Georgia returns to full strength, can anyone stop them?

Mike Griffith of Dawg Nation joins The Steakhouse to discuss Georgia battling through injuries and getting healthy at the right time

As the Georgia Bulldogs have put together one of the most historical runs in college football and are three wins away from becoming the first team to win three consecutive national championships since Minnesota did so in the 1930’s. However, while the Dawgs run of 29 straight wins and a record of 41-1 since that includes the 2021 season, is more than impressive, what stands out the most is the fact that Georgia has been able to keep themselves at the top of the CFB world while dealing with injuries to impactful players along the way.

From running back Kendall Milton to tight end Brock Bowers, the Dawgs have had to hit the field with at least one starter missing from the line up almost all season, beginning with wide receiver, Ladd McConkey, who missed Georgia’s first four games due to a back injury. Fast forward to this past Saturday in which Georgia defeated Georgia Tech 31-28, the Bulldogs had to complete the task without McConkey (ankle), Bowers (ankle), offensive lineman Tate Ratledge (left knee) and wide receiver RaRa Thomas (foot), however, on Tuesday, Mike Griffith of Dawg Nation shared his thoughts with Steak Shapiro and Sandra Golden on The Steakhouse, on what impressed him in the Dawgs win over the Yellow Jackets as it relates to the injuries they have had to deal with.

“The most significant happening in the last few weeks is your running game’s emerged,” Griffith said in response to Shapiro’s question of “what jumped out” to him after seeing Georgia take on Georgia Tech, with Griffith explaining that seeing Milton’s performance of 156 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. “We’ve been waiting on Kendall to perform like this,” Griffith said, explain that the senior running back has had to deal with injuries which have limited him, however, “he’s finally healthy, it couldn’t have happened at a better time,” Griffith said as he would go on to give Shapiro and Golden updates on other players that have been dealing with injuries.
